ACUPARIA is a foundation under public law. It was established in 2016 in Garðabær (Iceland) and is recognized as a non-profit foundation under civil law. The purpose of the foundation is to promote nature and environmental protection as well as reforestation. According to its statutes, its main goals are to promote environmental protection and nature conservation.
Acuparia aims to achieve these goals through
Procurement of funds and suitable land.
Improvement of the soil by sowing lupines or other vegetation, in particular to prevent erosion
Planting and sowing trees.
Restoring wetlands, increasing carbon sequestration and biodiversity, in particular by creating habitats for birds
Promotion of knowledge of environmental protection and forestry.
The Acuparia foundation works on a voluntary basis. Its board currently consists of the founder Albrecht Ehmann as well as Árni Ehmann and Martin Emmanúel Ehmann. The foundation is financed by interest income and donations. Due to the currently low interest rate level, it is also planned to use income from rentals to finance the projects. There is also the possibility of supporting Acuparia through endowments.
