Wetland habitats and birds

A wetland or wet biotope is an area that lies in the transition zone from dry to permanently wet ecosystems. The term wetland encompasses various habitat types of flora and fauna such as floodplain, quarry forest, wet meadow, bog, fen, swamp, marsh ditch or marshland, which are adapted to the year-round excess of water.
